About Meredith Gould
I'm an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based artist whose work is influenced by decades of spiritual seeking across traditions before returning home to Judaism. As a result, I incorporate a broad range of experientially-based ways of expressing the sacred. Jewish-themed work explores feelings evoked by Jewish rituals, holidays, symbols, and stories.
Because I consider myself an analog mixed media artist and illustrator, I mirror analog materials and processes in my digital work. More specifically, this means using digital versions of brushes, pens, pencils, texture-creating tools, and heavy body acrylics I use for analog art.
I've studied art at Carnegie Mellon University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Parsons School of Design, and with iconographers, Vladislav Andreyev and Peter Pearson. I earned a doctorate in Sociology at NYU.
